Presented to Paul W. Adams in 1988 in recognition of his organization of Scandinavian cruises involving many members of the North American Station, and for other activities in promoting the purpose of the Station over the years.  During his lifetime, he was vested with the privilege of awarding the Award at such times as he chose, to a person selected by the Awards Committee who had rendered distinguished service to the Station.  The Paul W. Adams Award is now awarded at the discretion of the Governing Board.
