Our all-female Scandinavian-American team competing in the 2026 NYYC Women's International Championship - New York Yacht Club, sailed in IC37s, September 12-19 in Newport is looking for your support.

The team is headed up by Marie Klok Crump who will be at the helm, KDY Commodore Anne Sofie Munk-Hansen, and Angelica Almlid. The team includes seasoned sailors from both sides of the Atlantic who compete at the highest levels of our sport. It includes a number of champion sailors in various one design classes.

The team will be in Newport for a few days prior to the beginning of the regatta and also plans to participate in the Safe Harbor Race Weekend in Newport, August 7-9.

If you would like to support our team, please consider a donation to our affiliated 501(c)(3) charity, The Atlantic Round, Inc. You can also support in other ways, for instance by offering accommodations in and around Newport. Finally, we are working on creating opportunities for NAS members to meet the team and watch them in action in Newport in August and September. The NAS community is a generous one! A few weeks ago, we received an unsolicited donation to our Team NAS from Steve and Gale Sherman in honor of Gale's aunt Lorna Whittelsey Hibberd. Lorna was a multiple time US Women's Sailing Champion. She will be inducted into the US Sailing Hall of Fame in Newport in October.
